Located in New South Wales, South Coast, Mystics is a fun beach break as well as home to a hollow intense wedge at the northern end of the beach. These waves can be a bit challenging to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The wedge is very popular with bodyboarders, not so much with surfers, but the beach break is pretty darn good too.
What are the best surf conditions for Mystics?
Gets good between waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard on the beach break when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. A shortboard at the wedge will work. This spot is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and will usually have a crew on it (6/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the Northeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
