Green Island is located on the South Coast of New South Wales It’s a lo ng left that breaks off a small rocky/grassy island close to the coast that is very easy to spot. It’s super idyllic and a pleasure to surf. Not often classic but it’s a fun break that on the right day can line up beautifully and offer long rides of up to 300m. A fast-breaking but not super powerful wave which sometimes barreling wave, well suited to intermediates or experienced surfers. Be respectful to the locals and you will do fine. Plenty of waves if you just wait your turn.

Gets good between head-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard, fish, longboard, or step up when bigger here. Green Island in South Coast is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and can get crowded (7/10). The best winds for Green Island are North (so perfect in the summer NE winds). The best swell direction is from the East, Northeast, South and Southeast.
