Located in Northern Baja, Mexico, Calafia Beach is an average beach break that offers up some mushier conditions perfect for beginners or longboarders. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Calafia Beach?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard if the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has a wave (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 31 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best as water temperatures plunge to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
