Located in Coffs Harbour to Iluka, New South Wales, Woolgoolga Beach is a fun right-hand point set-up that offers up barreling walls when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Woolgoolga Beach?
Gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard when smaller and a step up as the size picks up. This spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. The best swells are from the East or Southeast. Works on a mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures drop to 16 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
