Angourie Point is a classic right-hand point break on the North Coast of New South Wales. It can get really good here. It’s an exposed point so is consistent but also exposed to strong winds, Its a powerful wave that serves up a playground of sections suited to top to bottom surfing and decent barrel sections breaking for over 300m on its day

The right is the gem but there is also a left on the other side of the point which is protected from North East winds.

What are the best surf conditions for Angourie Point?

Gets good at double overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard or step up when bigger here. Angourie Point on the Northern New South Wales coast is best suited to intermediate to advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and can get very crowded (9/10) when it’s pumping. The best winds for Angourie Point are Northwest to West. The best swell direction is from the Southeast to the North East. This place loves a groundswell, which surf spot doesn’t!
