Located in San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, La Loberia is a quality reef break that has both a left and a right, although the right is much better. The waves here are heavy and break for up to 200 metres (656 feet) over a rocky bottom. Big barrels are the name of the game here. Watch out for sea lions.
What are the best surf conditions for La Loberia?
La Loberia gets good between head high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard, step-up, or barrel chaser as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will generally be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the east, north, and northeast. The best swells are from the northwest, south, southwest, and west. La Loberia works on all tides.
