Located in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Seymour Norte is an excellent right-hand point break that offers some long barreling walls when the right swells arrive. The waves here can be challenging and break for up to 100 metres (328 feet) over a rock bottom. The one problem is that surfing is not allowed here. Could be worth it though.
What are the best surf conditions for Seymour Norte?
While Seymour Norte offers excellent waves between chest-high and double overhead, it’s important to note that surfing is not permitted here. However, for those curious about the conditions:
We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will be empty (1/10). The best winds are from the southeast. The best swells are from the northwest. Seymour Norte works best on a mid-tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures range between 24°C (75°F) and 27°C (81°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
