Located in Littoral Paulista, Brazil, Maresias is a quality beach break that offers up some good, consistent, rippable peaks. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a sand bottom. This beach is very, very popular with those from Sao Paulo.
What are the best surf conditions for Maresias?
It gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard, then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get very crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the East, South, and Southeast. It works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round as water temperatures range between 29°C (84°F) and 26°C (79°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
