Located on Long Island in New York, Atlantic Terrace is a fun beach break that unloads over a boulder and sand bottom. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for 50 meters providing some sections for turns.
What are the best surf conditions for Atlantic Terrace?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. All levels of surfers will find something here. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will be super crowded in the summer (9/10). The best winds are offshore from the Northwest. The best tide is low to mid (it doesn’t work at all on high). The best swells come from the East, South, Southeast, and Southwest.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temps rise to 23 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is necessary when the water temps drop to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
