Located in Monterey County, California, Willow Creek hosts two reef peaks that are heavy and serve up meaty sections to rip into. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a boulder and kelp seabed bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Willow Creek?
Gets good between chest-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will always have a crew (7/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 15 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 12 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
