Located in West Sumbawa, Indonesia, Sekongkang Bay holds three spots. Yo Yo’s which is the most exposed and offers a barreling right. The Wedge that has a refracting factor off of cliff walls to make a short right. And the Hook that is the furthest inside and offers a more relaxed barrel. All are rights. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef.
What are the best surf conditions for Yo-Yo’s – The Hook?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. A longboard, shortboard, and step up will all serve you depending on the spot and the size. These breaks are suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is somewhat consistent (5/10) and can get busy at times (5/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the South, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round. The water temperatures range from 28 to 25. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
