Java Cove Beach Hotel is located on the southern side of west Java. Nestled inside the cove is the small and simple village of Batu Karus. Batu Karus is also home to some very inviting waves.
The point is a 400m, sand-bottomed, right-hand, point break that offers a variety of sections. At the top of the point is a fast take off and hollow section, whereas further down the line the wave has a much easier entry with long workable walls that can be ridden as far as the end of the bay. The reef works on high tide and also has an easy take off spot that leads to a more workable section racing some 150m of top to bottom goodness. The reef usually works best in waist high to overhead sized waves. In addition to these waves are a large variety of beach breaks nearby and another reef located 40 minutes away that will work on the smaller swells. The waves and atmosphere at Java Cove Beach Hotel is much more relaxed than the rest of Indonesia. Those looking for wide open barrels over shallow, sharp reef may wish to look elsewhere, however those who are looking for a much more relaxed, peaceful and cruiser environment both in and out of the water will love Java Cove Beach Hotel. Surfers who are newly beginning, or still learning can enjoy practising a variety of techniques in each part of the waves on offer, making perfect conditions to improve your technique.
