Located on the Addu Atoll, Indian Ocean, Kanda Muli is a quality stretch of reef that offers up lefts and rights that can tend to close out but offer good sections for ripping into. The waves here can be a bit challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. Best on smaller swells as this is a swell magnet and will amp up the size a bit.
What are the best surf conditions for Kanda Muli?
Gets good between waist high to overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size increases. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here does not break very often (3/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures fluctuate between 28 and 30 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
