Located in the Addu Atoll, Indian Ocean, Air Equator Lefts looks to be a good reef break that offers up some full on left hand barrels. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a coral reef. This reef was spotted by airline pilot Andy Burr, and is basically unsurfed. Let us know how it is!
What are the best surf conditions for Air Equator Lefts?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break looks suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will be empty (1/10). Offshore wind are from the Northwest. Swells from the South, Southeast, and Southwest look to be the best. Works on all tides (Maybe?).
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year round as water temperatures range between 30 and 28. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
