Located in West Caithness, Scotland, Brimms Ness – The Point is a quality left point set up that offers up some long performance based sections. The waves here are generally a little heavy and shallow, breaking for up to 100 meters over a rock and slate bottom. Don’t speed when driving here, good access is due to the hospitality of the landowner here.
What are the best surf conditions for The Point?
Gets good between waist high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced level surfers. The surf here is a little bit fickle (4/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works best on a low to mid tide.
We recommend wearing a 5/4 year round here. The water temperatures rise to 13 degrees in July and drop to 7 degrees in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
