Located in Balearics on the island of Mallorca, Canyamel is an average, variable beach break that offers up some fun sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. The locals here call themselves the “Canyamel Boys” and mistake this break for something better than it is. Be nice and respectful.
What are the best surf conditions for Canyamel?
Gets good between waist high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will have the boys on it when it does (6/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 26 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
