Located on the island of Menorca, Punta Prima is an average right-point break that offers up some good sections for manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rocky bottom. This is one of the most beautiful spots in the Mediterranean, maintaining water colour all year round. This is a winter spot that picks up a huge swell window and does not max out.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Prima?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here does not break very often (3/10) and will have a group on it when it does (6/10). The best winds are from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, South, Southeast, and Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 26 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
