Located in Northern Algarve, Portugal, Carriagem is a fun beach break that offers up some good performance sections when the conditions line up. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. This spot is difficult to get to and isn’t good often, but when it’s good the waves are worth the hike down the cliff.
What are the best surf conditions for Carriagem?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here hardly breaks well (2/10) and will have some heads on it when it does (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides but mid is best.
