Located in Madeira, Portugal, Ponta Paul is an excellent right-hand point break that offers a dangerously fast and shallow barreling wave. This spot is heavy, the waves break almost right onto exposed rock for up to 200 meters. Only a few here have surfed the wave, and most have a story about someone who got into a hairy situation trying. Very hard to paddle into and if you fall or miss the drop its onto the dry rocks for you.
