More on Ribeira Da Janela

Located in Madeira, Portugal, Ribeira da Janela is an excellent left-hand point break that offers up a steep, barreling, fast wave for those that can handle it. The waves here can be hard to surf and break for up to 150 meters over a rock-covered bottom.

What are the best surf conditions for Ribeira da Janela?

Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up here as the size increases. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get a little crowded when it is on (7/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the Northwest and Northeast. Works on low to mid tides best.

We recommend wearing a 3/2 in the summer More...
