Located in Madeira, Portugal, Madalena do Mar is a quality reef break that offers up good performance sections for carves and hacks. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 100 meters out of deep water over a rock bottom.

Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard or step-up as the size increases. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will have some people on it (6/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
