Located in Vendee, France, Les Conches is an excellent beach break that provides a wide variety of sandbars to choose from on any given day. The waves here aren’t all easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over well-defined sand bars serving up some barreling sections where you can pull in and snag some tube time.
What are the best surf conditions for Les Conches?
Gets good from waist high to triple overhead. A shortboard will be best most days and a step up will be necessary when some more juice arrives. This break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16 degrees. In winter a 4/3 is necessary when water temps plunge to 10 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
