Located in Eastern Oaxaca, Mexico, Chacahua is a quality right-hand point break that offers up a fast and tubing wave when a big enough southwest swell arrives. The waves here are straightforward to surf and break for up to 200 meters (656 feet) over a rock and sand bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Chacahua?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard and then a step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here does not break often (3/10) and will generally be uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the North. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer and a 4/3 wetsuit in the winter. The water temperatures range from 31°C to 16°C (88°F to 61°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
