Located in Southern Baja, Mexico, Punta Marquez is a fun series of reef breaks that offer up rippable sections year-round. The waves here require some skill to surf and a 4WD to get to, but break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over rock reefs.
What are the best surf conditions for Punta Marquez?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if small and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the Northwest, Southwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summers and a 3/2 wetsuit in the winters. The water temperatures range from 29°C to 18°C (84°F to 64°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
