Located on the Batavia Coast, South West Australia, Tarcoola is an excellent beach break with a sandy bottom. Some waves can be challenging while also providing fun sections for manoeuvres.
What are the best surf conditions for Tarcoola?
Gets good between waist-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard when bigger here. Tarcoola is best suited to beginner to advanced surfers. There is usually something to surf here (6/10) and you can score it at times without too many others (4/10). The best winds for Tarcoola are Northeast. The best swell direction is from the South, Southwest and West, and it works on all tides.
In summer we recommend wearing a spring suit, with the warmest water temperature a pleasant 21 degrees in February. In winter we recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit with temps being a brisk 16 degrees! See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
