Located in Southern Morocco, Tarfaya is a pretty good beach break that offers up some decent waves for manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. This break is shadowed from the Northwest but does pick up Northeast wind swell.
What are the best surf conditions for Tarfaya?
Gets good between waist-high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size increases. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and is generally uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the Northeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a spring suit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 3/2 is best when water temperatures only drop to 18 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
