Located on the East Coast of Bali, Padang Galak is a decent beach break that has a good reef that works as well. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a rock and sand bottom. The reef bends around and creates a good wave for performance manoeuvres. The beach break is quick and generally good.
What are the best surf conditions for Padang Galak?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and will generally be crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells are from the Southwest. Works on a mid to low tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round here. Water temperatures rise to 29 degrees in the summer before dropping only to 27 in the winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
