Located in Northwest Wales, Aberdaron is a fun beach break that offers up some good sections for manoeuvres when the conditions line up. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand and boulder covered bottom which creates well-defined banks. Best when a bit bigger.
What are the best surf conditions for Aberdaron?
Gets good between waist high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here sometimes has a wave (4/10) and will hardly ever be crowded (3/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a mid to high tide best.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 16 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 8 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
