Located on the island of Mallorca, Aucanada is an average, left-hand reef break that offers up some high-performance sections when the conditions line up. The waves here are pretty straightforward to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a rock bottom.
What are the best surf conditions for Aucanada?
Gets good between waist-high and head-high. A longboard will work here when smaller and a shortboard is best when the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here barely ever breaks (2/10) and the local crew will be on it when it does (7/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. Needs a big North or Northeast swell to work. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 26 degrees. In the winter a 4/3 is best when water temps drop to 14 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
