Located in South Piura, Peru, Cabo Verde is a fun beach break that offers up some decent and rippable sections. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. An island blocks West swells.
What are the best surf conditions for Cabo Verde?
Cabo Verde gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is somewhat consistent (6/10) and will be uncrowded (2/10). The best winds are from the northeast. The best swells are from the south and southwest. Cabo Verde works on all tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 25°C (77°F). In the winter, a spring suit is best when water temperatures drop to 21°C (70°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
