More on Colain
Located in South Piura, Peru, Colain is an average to below-average beach break that offers up some mushy, easygoing waves for beginners and longboarders. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. This is a 20 km stretch of beach much better known for its sunsets than the surf.
What are the best surf conditions for Colain?
Colain gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard if the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is very consistent (8/10) and will generally be uncrowded (3/10). The best winds are from the east. The best swells are from the northwest, south, southwest, and west. Colain works on all tides.
