Located in Chicama, Peru, Punta Prieta is an excellent left-hand point break that offers up some barreling and rippable sections along one of the longest rides in the world. The waves here are not easy to surf and break for up to 600 meters (about 1969 feet) over a rock and sand bottom. Jelly legs are the biggest hazard here.

What are the best surf conditions for Punta Prieta?

Punta Prieta gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard then stepping up as the size picks up.
