Located in Iquique, Chile, Las Urracas is a fun left-hand reef that offers up barreling walls when the conditions line up. The waves here are challenging and break for up to 100 meters over a rock bottom. The urchins and shallow nature of the reef make for a sketchy set-up.

What are the best surf conditions for Las Urracas?

Gets good between chest high (91 cm) and double overhead (3.7 m). We recommend riding a longboard if small or a shortboard, then a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and will generally have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the South and Southwest. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
