Located in West Ceara, Brazil, Ponte Metalica is a fun reef break that offers up peaky, high-performance walls when the conditions line up. The waves here require some skill to surf and break for up to 100 meters (328 feet) over a coral reef bottom. Pollution and crowds are an issue here.
What are the best surf conditions for Ponte Metalica?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard then a step up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will always have a crew on it (7/10). The best winds are from the Southwest. The best swells are from the North and Northeast. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini year-round. Water temperatures vary between 29°C (84°F) and 27°C (81°F). See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
