What are the best surf conditions for Sea Girt?
Turns on between head high and double overhead. A longboard will work great here in the summer when smaller and a shortboard is perfect in winter when the swell picks up. All levels of surfers will find something here depending on the swell and season. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and gets super crowded in summer (9/10) and empty in winter (4/10). Offshore winds come from the West here and East swells are best. Works the best on mid to low tides.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 23 degrees. In winter a 5/4 with a hood, booties, and gloves is necessary when the water temps drop to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
