Located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Asbury Park is the stretch of beach from Long Branch down to Loch Arbour and is a quality jetty break that peels over a sand bottom. The waves here are easy to surf and break for up to 150 meters, providing some great sections for manoeuvres. There’s a left at The Cove in Allenhurst which has awesome bowly sections with some power waiting for you to rip it to pieces!
What are the best surf conditions for Asbury Park?
Gets good from waist high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This break s best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and usually uncrowded (4/10). The best winds come from the West. The best swells come from the East, Northeast, South, and Southeast. Works best on a mid to low tide.
We recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini in the summer when water temperatures rise to 23 degrees. In winter a 5/4 with a hood, booties, and gloves is necessary when the water temps drop to 4 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
