Located in Southern Maine, Moody Beach is a decent beachie that breaks over a sand bottom. This spot is easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters providing some great sections to practise your turns on.
What are the best surf conditions for Moody Beach?
Gets good from chest high to overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here most days and your shortboard when the size steps up. The break is best suited to intermediate and advanced surfers. The surf here usually has a wave (5/10) and is usually uncrowded (4/10). The best winds are from the Northwest. The best swells come from the East. Works best on mid tides.
We recommend wearing a 3/2 wetsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 18 degrees. In winter a 5/4 is necessary for the 3-degree water. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
