Located in Palm Beach County on the East Coast of Florida, Delray Beach is a pretty decent beach break that thunders over a sand bottom. The waves here can be steep and a little tricky to surf, breaking for up to 100 meters. The waves usually wall up providing some great sections for hacks and carves, but also barrels.
What are the best surf conditions for Delray Beach?
Gets good from waist-high to double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when bigger. This beach is suitable for all levels of surfer depending on the size of the swell. The surf here is not super consistent (4/10) and can get quite crowded when it is good (8/10). The best winds are offshore from the West. The best swells are from the East, North, Northeast, and Southeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing board shorts or a bikini year-round. Water temps rise to 30 degrees in the summer and drop only to 23 in winter. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
