Located in Santa Cruz County, California, Natural Bridges State Park is a decent right-hand reef set-up that offers a shallow, bowling, and barreling ride. The waves here can be challenging to surf and break for up to 200 meters over a rock and sand bottom. This is a description of the main peak/attraction. There are plenty of other peaks in the area that work on different conditions and offer different styles of waves from longboarding cruisers and up. All of these break over rocky reef which is flat but has sharp spots.
What are the best surf conditions for Natural Bridges State Park?
Gets good between chest high and double overhead. We recommend riding a shortboard or a step-up as the size picks up. This break is suitable for intermediate and advanced-level surfers. The surf here is not the most consistent (4/10) and will get crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the Northeast. The best swells are from the Northwest. Works on a low to mid-tide best.
