More on Sealion Cove

Located in Sitka, Alaska, Sealion Cove is a decent beach break that offers up some fun sections for learning and turns when the conditions line up. The waves here require a bit of skill to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom.

What are the best surf conditions for Sealion Cove?

Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard if smaller and a shortboard then step up as the size picks up. This break is good for all levels of surfer. The surf here usually has something to ride (5/10) and will get busy at peak times (5/10). The best winds are from the East. The best swells are from the West. Works on all tides.

We recommend wearing a 5/4 year-round with hood and booties. More...
