Aura Surf Resort is situated on a 15000 square meter lot of beachfront parkland on a largely unexplored island of North Sumatra.
The peak directly out the front of the resort is usually around five or six foot and will rarely drop below three feet. All levels of surfers are welcome here, and all waves accommodate them. If your not surfing the world class peak out the front, jump on one of the motorbikes or hop into either the 27ft speed boat or 12ft zodiac and find over a dozen more barrelling reef breaks and beaches.
Housing up to 14 surfers at one time, the camp consists of four bungalows and one main house.
Each bungalow is raised above the ground next to three kilometres of sandy beach. They each contain two rooms with two beds within each room. The rooms are versatile and can be closed for privacy or opened up for families. Couples can enjoy queen size beds.
All rooms have electricity, drinking water, coffee and tea, towels, soaps and face cloths. At the rear of the bungalows are western style bathrooms, and at the front is a veranda with comfortable furniture for relaxing or watching your mates get wave after wave.
In addition to the bungalows is a main house area. This area has many dining areas, couches and hammocks, a bbq area and an outdoor deck. Whilst you enjoy the tropical surroundings you can still appreciate the modern facilities including; internet, stereo, cable tv, dvd and cell phone reception.
There is also a surf hut located directly in front of the peak may arguably have one of the best seats in the world!
Fishermen and snorkellers may wish to bring their gear along as there are world class reefs and beautiful beaches on the islands nearby accessible by the speed boat or zodiac. Mountain hiking, exploring the fresh rivers or visiting the local town’s cafe’s are other options available to you should you decide to jump on one of the resorts motorbikes (equipped with board racks).
More facilities at the resort are; a pool table, a table tennis table, darts, and even a 9 hole putt putt golf course to keep everyone occupied.
