Located in West Bali, Indonesia, Balian is a consistent wave magnet spot. The reef provides both lefts and right and breaks on all tides. The lefts are more often longer and better formed than the rights, peeling off the A-frame peak for up to 100 meters. The crowds are not usually bad, but can get busy when the surf is up (5/10). This spot is also somewhat consistent (6/10). It is better to surf early before the onshore winds that usually come up around 11am between May and September. Balian is a picturesque wave with a river mouth creating a current out to sea which is responsible for the bottom counter that creates the wave.
