Located in Eastern Bali, Indonesia, Keramas is an excellent right hand reef break with a classic black sand and rice field set up. It is often the scene for a lot of high-performance surfing and it is not uncommon to see a few professionals in the water. This spot really blew up after the World Tour decided to run an event here which seems to always deliver both performance sections and deep barrels.
Unfortunately, Keramas is onshore a lot of the time except In the wet season (Dec – Feb) when the winds are more favourable. So it’s best to surf at first light before the wind comes up. Keramas is a fun wave when it is smaller, offering some a few barrels and some punchy rides.
