Located in Moray Firth, Scotland, Lossiemouth is a fun beach break that offers up some good sections for performance surfing when the conditions line up. The waves here are not always easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Can also have a good left towards the Northern end of the beach. Needs a big swell to get going.
What are the best surf conditions for Lossiemouth?
Gets good between waist-high and overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here if smaller and a shortboard as the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is not consistent (3/10) and will be crowded when it breaks (7/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the East, North, and Northeast. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a 4/3 in the summer when water temperatures rise to 13 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 7 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
