Located in the Pais Vasco, Bakio is a fun beach break that offers up some excellent waves that occasionally barrel. The waves here can be tricky to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. When elsewhere is small people flock here.
What are the best surf conditions for Bakio?
Gets good between waist-high and triple overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer depending on the size. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and can get quite crowded (8/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
