Located in the Pais Vasco, Laga is a quality beach break that offers up peaky barrels most of the time. The waves here can be a bit tricky to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. This break is consistent and found in a picturesque setting, which can lead to the occasional crowd.
What are the best surf conditions for Laga?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer depending on the size. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and will get crowded on weekends and holidays (7/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North and Northwest. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
