Located in Cantabria, Playa de Meron is a fun beach break that offers up some good peaks with sections for manoeuvres. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 50 meters over a sand bottom. Smaller the further West you go on the beach, as well as usually better shaped.
What are the best surf conditions for Playa de Meron?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is pretty consistent (6/10) and can get busy on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds are from the South. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temperatures rise to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
