Located in Cantabria, Spain, Gerra is a fun beach break that offers up some good performance peaks that are very rarely crowded. The waves here are pretty easy to surf and break for up to 100 meters over a sand bottom. This beach is gorgeous, check it out even if you don’t plan on surfing.
What are the best surf conditions for Gerra?
Gets good between waist-high and double overhead. We recommend riding a longboard here when smaller and a shortboard when the size picks up. This break is suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf here is consistent (7/10) and can get crowded but only on weekends and holidays (5/10). The best winds are from the Southeast. The best swells are from the North, Northwest, and West. Works on all tides.
We recommend wearing a springsuit in the summer when water temperatures rise to 21 degrees. In the winter a 5/4 is best when water temps drop to 13 degrees. See the temperature chart below for more data on this.
