Found in South West Australia, The Box is a world-class, monstrous reef break over a rock shelf bottom. Every wave is challenging and can break for up to 50 meters, serving up throaty barreling sections (from which the wave gets its name) where you can pull in and snag some tube time. The wave well known for its difficulty, but if you can navigate the perils that include a lack of water depth, sharp rock shelf, great white sharks, and heaving lips, you might claim the barrel of your life.
What are the best surf conditions for The Box?
Gets good between head-high to triple overhead. We recommend riding your standard shortboard or step-up when bigger here. The Box is best suited to pro and advanced surfers.
