South Steyne is the name given to the south end of Manly Beach near the southern most stormwater drain. Waves here can get classic in large summer NE swells providing good to epic conditions providing A-frame peaks, and crazy left/right grinding barrels The only break further south from here is Manly in the far corner.

When surfing here in summer we recommend wearing boardshorts or a bikini, plus a wetsuit top, with the warmest water temperature a pleasant 21 degrees in January. In winter we recommend a 3/2 wetsuit, it gets a bit colder at this time of year. July is the coldest month when water temps are around 16 degrees C.
